Workdrugfree Oregon

A year-long effort by Workdrugfree in facilitating a statewide business leaders group culminated Jan. 9, 2006 with adoption of its Oregon Business Plan (OBP) initiative at the Oregon Leadership Summit. The Workdrugfree Oregon initiative was launched as part of OBP’s Meet Targeted Workforce Needs of Industry initiative.

The effort was precipitated by the increasing difficulty of Oregon businesses in finding workers who can pass a pre-employment drug test. Its overall goal is to significantly increase the number of drugfree workplaces in Oregon through strategies to educate and mobilize the business community, prioritize substance abuse prevention in Oregon’s public workforce system, and elevate the importance of student preparation for drugfree workplaces.
